About Us

Leicester Shoulder Unit offers diagnosis and treatment based on the latest best practise evidence and perform established surgical techniques including keyhole surgery, joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs and fracture fixations. We are supported in advanced diagnostic techniques by a team of expert radiologists. Our teams of anaesthetists are proficient in using regional anaesthetic techniques for Awake Upper limb surgery facilitating smoother and early recovery during operations.

We comprise a team of highly experienced Consultants, anaesthetists, radiologists and Specialist Physiotherapists, amounting to breadth of expertise in resolving shoulder and elbow problems. As part of the Leicester hospitals, our purpose is to provide ‘Caring at its best’ and our staff have helped us create a set of values that embody who we are and what we’re here to do. Teaching and Training

Our shoulder trauma symposium is well established and into it’s eight year and is run by senior surgeons in the Leicester Shoulder and Elbow Unit and attracts faculty from all over the world. It provides an overview on the current management of shoulder trauma to address the problems encountered in everyday management of fractures around the shoulder and provide delegates the opportunity to share the views and experience of leaders in the field.
